The Corsa dei Santi It has seen steady growth over the years, going from a running niche to one of the most attended and expected road running events of the Roman autumn.
Analyzing the evolution of the event from its debut to the most recent editions, some key phases can be distinguished:
1. The Startup Phase (Early Years
In the first editions (started in the late 2000s), the race had a relatively small number of arrivals and registrants, usually between 1,300 and the 2,000 participants. In this first phase the event was based above all on the hard core of members of local and Roman running clubs (such as the Podistica SolidarietĆ o i G.S. Bancari Romani).
2. Consolidation and Gradual Growth
Over the years, thanks to the unique combination of the evocative route in the historic center (starting and finishing just steps from San Pietro), the strong television media exposure (live on Canale 5), and the charitable support of Missioni Don Bosco, the event has seen an ever-increasing number of enthusiasts, amateur runners, and entire families flock there. We have moved steadily to altitude 2,500 - 3,000 members.
3. The Recent Boom and the Wall of 5,000 Participants
In recent editions the race has also seen a notable surge in popularity at an international level:
- 2024 Edition: Has exceeded quota 4,000 participants coming from about 35 different nations.
- 2025 Edition: It set a real growth record, touching and pulverizing the cap set by the organization at 5,000 total members. On this occasion, also due to the jubilee context, the offer was expanded by introducing new collateral evidence (such as the Giro delle Quattro Basiliche e la Staffetta della Pace), portando runners da quasi 40 nazioni a correre per le strade di Roma e registrando il “tutto esaurito” con largo anticipo rispetto alla data della gara.
