THE GRAND SLAM RACES IN ROME
The “Grand Slam of Running Città di Roma” is a running circuit that brings together some of the most iconic, historic, and well-attended road races in the capital.
Born with the aim of enhancing the Roman running movement and creating a link between the events most loved by runners, this circuit is not a single race, but a points classification based on participation in the various events planned in the annual calendar.

Here are the key points to understand what it is:
- As it is structured: The circuit rewards sports clubs (based on the number of athletes who reach the finish line in each event) and, in some cases, offers individual awards for those who participate in all stages of the calendar. It's a deeply felt competition between running clubs, who compete for cash prizes to promote athletics.
- The races included: The number of trials has grown over time. While initially the circuit included four historic races (Corsa di Miguel, Roma Appia Run, Corsa dei Santi and We Run Rome), since 2025 it has expanded to include 6 eventi podistici:
- La Corsa di Miguel (January): famous for its arrival inside the Olympic Stadium.
- Roma Appia Run (April): known for being the only race in the world to race on five different types of pavement.
- Corsa dei Santi (November): famous for its passage through St. Peter's Square.
- Rome 15 K (November): One of the most recent tests added to the circuit.
- Roma Urbs Mundi (December).
- We Run Rome (December 31): the classic end-of-year race that usually closes the circuit.

In short, the Grand Slam is a sort of city “championship” that transforms individual competitions, already very popular individually, into a unique trophy that celebrates continuity and sporting participation throughout the entire calendar year.
